Our World Travel Bucket List

by Feb 14, 2018Travel Wisdom

As we travel across India, many of our friends keep asking us that where would we like to travel outside India.  And we keep on telling them that it will take a lifetime to cover India; even then we will not be able to experience the whole of our country. Having said that, we also have a bucket list of destinations around the globe where we definitely want to visit in this lifetime itself. So here is our grand bucket list for the grand world tour.

1. Visit the Masai Mara Reserve and Serengeti National Park

If there is a safari we both are really mad about, that is the Masai Mara Reserve and the Serengeti National Park. We have heard and read so much about them that this remains on the top of our bucket list. What do you think about this choice?

2. Watch the sunset near the Pyramid of Giza

Visiting Egypt had always been a dream of ours. Especially so after watching the Mummy franchisee. You can call it the childhood fantasy, but it has remained with us till now. Also, we are quite intrigued by all the mysteries that shroud the pyramids! The vastness of Sahara is also an added interest.

3. Wander through the dense Amazon forests

Amazon is another place that we would like to tread. Just thinking of the thrill of going around the largest river and then traversing the dense rainforest thrills us to the core.

4. Visit the Burj Khalifa

This comes to the list, as I am particularly interested to see the tallest existing structure on earth. Burj Khalifa in Dubai is also a great work of architecture. In the meanwhile, I would also like to check the Dubai Hotels and Malls!

5. Enter the forbidden land of Tibet

The forbidden land beckons us the most. A reading of “Seven Years in Tibet” by Heinrich Harrer was sufficient to invoke my interest in the land of the holy Dalai Lama. After that, I keep on reading the books written by his Holiness about his life and struggle of Tibet while thinking of visiting there.

This list is definitely not exhaustive. Places keep on getting added to the bucket. Infact, our bucket also has Greece, Italy, Japan, China and many many places. Infact, in my haste, I had almost started checking for flights at the Etihad Airways!

  1. I have visited Maasai Mara at the beginning of this year and it left me speechless, Agni and Amrita. These are all excellent suggestions which I hope to cross off my bucket list soon. When would it be the best time of the year to explore Tibet?
